From the Y & Y web site home page. Is this the best boat to emerge in a generation ? I think so and would have begged my Dad to buy me a 29er had they been around when I was a teenager. Great photo. I just get the feeling the helm is trying to spot the gybe point. Fantastic and don't let anyone tell you these are not tactical boats. |

i dont buy it. in the V3000 you looked to be in fairly powered up conditions, yet there is no cuningham on. those aren't overbend wrinkles likt the N12 posted previously that is just no luff tnesion and a bit of vang. likewise with the laser3000, if it were overbend it would be coming fron near the spreaders to the clew not spread out evenly like that. particularly if they were sailing with little or no tension on the lowers. |

That was my precise point on the V3k: they aren't overbend wrinkles but speed creases caused by slack luff tension. By contrast with the luff to clew creases on the L3k, which I maintain are a result of an overbent mast - you'd still see them even if you cranked on the cunningham. |

I agree. I often get frustrated by not being big enough for some of the boats that Id like to sail but then so many of you big blokes will never get to experiance a 29er at its best. Gets my vote Ian |

Answer is simple, leave your crew on the shore and go solo. Way too much fun |

Speed creases on main of the new boat:
Looks great! - Well set up although it's not a true upwind shot as it looks like you're cracked off a bit. Edited by Roy Race |

Agree that any amount of cunningham wouldn't get rid of the creases right at the bottom. The failed lowers story makes perfect sense to me as there is just a bit too much mast bend here. I think a tiny nudge of cunningham would help to make the sail look nicer by smoothing out the luff wrinkles in the top half of the sail. Edited by Roy Race |

We get that on our 3k, i tend to loosen off the outhall and yank on the cuningham and it gets rid of most of the rinkles. But not the bottom one. |
