Went yesterday, seems a bit livelier than last year, even sense a degree of
optimism. I wonder just how much money there must be around to support all those leadmines and gin palaces. Normally I dont like to do it to myself (wander round looking at stuff I cant afford or the breadknife would prevent me from acquiring anyway) but this time I did take the Marina tour. Don't worry I wont upset y'all, but there was one beauty, a classic built sloop jobby (can't imagine me and the maintenance)but it was just so gorgeous i had to wander out and get closer to dream. Then I snapped out of it, returned to realityville and dossed around the LDC bit trying to blag the spinnaker bits to make Frank a VareoBlaze or Blareo as they preferred to call him, then bumped into Mark who didn't look quite as young and fresh faced as the last time we met, but had the air of head down gritty determination that he's going to need in his new venture, I wished him luck and it turns out I was his first digi subscriber, the irony of that wasn't lost.. Tempus has such a habit of fugiting when you're in an environment you love, I didn't have enough time to research my hikers so went walkabout looking, thought with all the 50% off clearouts going on (They've all got too many clothes from too many crap brand labels)there might be a bargain to be had. I'd seen some but have forgotten now what they were or who it was that did them (think a company over Ashford way might have them)they were more strap on easier to conceal and not wreck my hard earned core kiter windsurfer image than those bondage specials they offered me at the rooster shop (and they weren't on sale) so eventually I left empty handed. The Alto was there and I enjoyed a chat, but had to beat a hasty retreat when the sales guy started asking me how to sail it on a particular point of sailing his pro guys found awkward. I blathered on about putting another hole further out in the gib track and shot off, that how we do it, but I can't think it's correct. ![]() Ayway a good day, warm sunshine lots of boats, worth a trip, oh yes one more thing, a totally bizarre keel thing with a young man who ought to be doing better things with his life than sail whatever it was (Must have thought me a bit strange actually telling him that) I mean why would you? Keel thing? From Vandercraft.? Why would you do that? Edited by G.R.F. |

Quality summary, not going this year only cos I managed to book stuff this and next weekend.
Oh well, will save me pennies for the new sails needed. |

Taking the old chap on Thursday Never been before, anything I should look out for? Grumph Surprised you were allowed near the wood and varnish without a strip search for matches and lighters. Edited by rogerd |

I wore a long blonde wig and high stilletto heels, gets their attention every time, just as I was about to tippitoe onto the high gloss deck in them, the salesman decided to talk nicely to me.. ![]() Edited by G.R.F. |
