Depends what type of cloth you want. dacron/laminate? Any software which is any good is quite expensive, you may be better off designing something by hand.

either or, just wanting to get an idea iof the costs involved in building your own sails, a member at the club has just designed and built his own windsurfing sail and its got me thinking about making my own dinghy sail.

Try dimension polyant, contender or bainbridge. If your after some budget more cruising spec dacron or general supplies try kayospruce. Depends what kind of spec cloth you want in dacron or laminate on who is best.
