Hardly ... the last championships I did at WYC involved many many hours planning and organising prior to the event. |

I'd second that. Thats why i now travel 1.5hrs to sail there every weekend. Otherwise, Plymouth is an awesome place to sail. Gorgeous coast, flat water in the sound, proper sea outside the breakwater and decent breeze in the summer months. |

Lyme Regis - nothing better than those fast, long rolling waves downwind. Had a fantastic time in the 5 tonners back in '97.

Never been to Garda or one of the "trendy" locations abroad - but Medemblik in the Netherlands is one of best places I've ever raced. Back here in the UK I enjoy Poole Bay & Christchurch Bay(Parkstone & Highcliffe). Had a great time in Penzance a few years ago. Abersoch & Sunderland were good championships. Didn't like Largs (nice facilties but horrible sailing conditions) Not a fan of most Solent locations simply because they're too tidal for slow-ish boats especially if the wind is light. Don't mind Portland harbour but if I'm sea sailing I'd prefer to be on open water. |

Prefer Paignton to Torquay, like Hayling for it's facilities, have enjoyed
Tenby, have also enjoyed little spots like Aldeburgh, not a big fan of Poole or Sandbanks, too touristy, Mounts Bay can be fun, so can Largs in Scotland if it aint too cold, would love to do Salcombe some day but understand it's not exactly a 'big championship' venue, have had some great championships on the 'lakes' Coniston and Windemere fun if you're camping, Plymouth outside the wall can be interesting, love Lyme bay, also enjoyed Tynemouth for its tidal conundrums and I used to enjoy Whitstable for the same reason, Burnham and Stone similarly, but pick one? No, just too much choice. Aren't we lucky? Edited by G.R.F. |

I like sailing from the academy at weymouth, although its
not a club I enjoy being at a venue full of olympic/squad sailors. The sailing and race organisation is great there |
