we really do need a class forum.

my wife has a british moth and they have a great one. its used for loads of things, chat ,boat tips, selling boat etc.

its also useful for attracting and keeping new members to the class.

I'm an ex British Moth sailor and still use the forum there to keep in touch. It all seems to be down to someone in the class having the time, knowledge and enthusiasm to keep it running.

I'll have a look at the BM forum and maybe set up something for ppl to llok at.

In my experience, it needs a moderator who works a bit at getting going and a few keen members to keep the discussions rolling.

Let's give ita try.

Might be worth clubbing together with other Giles classes and create one forum with individual sub-fora for each class.

we need to get the word out to sailors in clubs where there are lots of lightnings

ie haversham, dovestone and cookham reach.

because most of the people on this lightning forum (including me) are new to the class and seem to sail at clubs where there are no or not many lightnings.


there must be a need for a class forum. just look at the number posts on this thread since i set it up just a few months ago!
