hi cat lovers

could i please have some advice on what you think would be the perfect cat for a 25 stone crew to sail a rough solent/open water and minimalising the risk of burying the bows.

Many Thanks

definitely a tornado sport  just so happens I hve one for sale and could deliver it to you for £3,500

Re pitch poling do, it at every possible opportunity especially in front of camera boats not only is it a blast but you get loads of publicity

go on you know it makes sense

I have been sailing the new nacra infusion (f18) for the last 6 months, and it hard to get the bows in the water when going down wind there is so much volume in the hulls.

The crew ends up wiring far further forward than on any other F18 (we have never used the foot loops!!) just to get the bows to touch the water.

If you want a demo pm me and I will give you some contact details.

Hurricane59 is pretty difficult to pitchpole. Certainly more volume in the bows than the Tornado. The Hurricane gives you lots of warning before it really sticks its bows in. Even better with the spinnaker up.

Worst boat for this has got to be the D18

I agree with redhotchilicat. Tornado carries the wieght well and thats probably why I would recommend it..... if not the nacra infusion. in regard to pitchpoling get the wieght well back!!!!!! and let go of the sheet

Yes, The Hurricane 5.9 is probably the best "big" boat - better than a Tornado boat for boat on the Anti-pitchpole league.  Not sailed an Infusion so cannot comment.

Going down the size range, you cannot top a Stealth F16 - T foils are the dogs bits !!!!!

Wanna learn to Ski - PM me..

sailed Tornados 4yrs - pitchpoles - nil , stuck bows in many time water up to gooseneck but didn't go over , guess my fat git weight at stern drove whole boat under ,

Hurricane 5.9/sx 7 yrs , pitchpoled 3 times , all on tight reach in short chop , ask chillicat he was aboard for one !

Can't go wrong with either both crackin boats .

Stealth wings are definately  the dogs doodahs , sailed 25 miles doon loch ness last sat in 30 knots at times , never got close to sticking bows in , Don't think any Tors or 5.9s pitchpoled there .

Hobie 16 and its bannana shaped varient hobies were the worlds best at pitchpoling , Dart not even on scale by comparison , New Hobies different story.
