i was going to get a cherub but i've had a talk wiv my crew and we've decided to stick wiv the 29er for a bit, and when you save 3000 to buy it and dream about it for 3 years it seems a bit wasteful!

the 29er is a wicked boat but dont you wish that it had a bigger kite and had two traps.

the orginal design for the 29er was exactly like that, but they tested that rig against the one it has now and the speed difference was tiny.  Making it twin trapeze would have not been too conducive to youth training, this way round you can jump into the boat at a younger age only having to hike as a helm.

A 29er with a bigger kite and twin traps is a good idea! Why don't we call it the "49er"

Or not...

Heres some pics on a 29er with a masthead kite and double traps. not sure if it will be developed but looks cool. Not sure if theres an increased main area so not sure how it would be upwind in moderate winds. Though it does look like a 59er? main so guess it must be bigger.

That does look pretty cool, although v. similar to how the 29er was originally designed http://www.29er.org/4030,01,1-0.html
