Which knee pads?

I am starting to break the habit of a lifetime and wear a shorty on a cat. The tan's coming on great, thanks but my knees are getting shredded on the tramp. Knee pads are probably the way to go but which ones? My concerns are them twisting and riding up (and stuff).

Any advice?

The tan won't look much good with knee pads, you end up with 2 white knees!!!!

If I wear knee pads I have found the Gul ones to be very good, as  they are velcro adjustable also can be worn over a wetsuit when the knees go on those!

In all honesty I wore a shorty yesterday because I had left my full suit in my kit bag since Tuesday and it was more than a little whiffy. Crew is still in full drysuit so anything that involves going more than testicle-deep into the water I leave to him.

I got some Gul kneepads when I sailed a Vortex many years ago but found them a bit uncomfortable to be honest. And now long since lost/eaten by dog. Although they are the most basic in terms of design and protection, I am leaning towards the non-adjustable Crewsaver pads.

No such thing as too much skiing Scooby. My left knee is fooked from a car crash 18 years ago and my right from high-jumping at school. My knees sound like they are on ratchets.

i think they are lined neoprene they are quite comfortable and dont dig in when your leg is bent

cant remember how much but about 12quid each

Someone told me on Sunday, that the scars on my scuffed and reddened knees meant I was sailing my boat wrong.

Supposed to stand up or sit apparently - though I note the Swift Solo lot say knee pads are mandatory.
