Some of the boats referred to as Green Marine are built by Composite Marine International (with whom Pom Green amongst others is involved) which is based on the Cobra facility in Thailand. The NACRA cats (for example) are CMI made as are many of the F18s. CMI produce fabulous RS100s, RS200s, RS500s, RS Vareos, RS800s and RS Elites for RS Sailing. The Cobra facility produces most of the worlds windsurfing boats, SUPs, surf boards, etc. as well as automotive composites, wind energy composites, rail industry, etc. Its no small outfit and the depth of design and technical ability is amazing.

Green Marine in Hythe, UK, is,  I believe, a Superyacht facility and not small boat manufacture.

RS300, RS600 (FF) RS700, RS400, RS Venture, RS Tera, RS Quba, RS Vision and RS Feva are made in the UK in three different manufacturing locations.

Funny thing happened today at the boat show, any of the boats I was seriously interested in were built by Ovington, bar the cats. Seeing quite a few of their boats at the show, in various places really emphasised the quality of work they do. The two boat builders in the UK that I rate highest and have a lot of time and respect for are Ovington and Green Marine. No one else comes close.

Speaking to somebody who works for Hartley, apparently there are a few of them ready, so hopefully soon...

We've had deck separation problems on fireflies here to.... and also the same problem themeaningoflife had when we ordered a new fleet, they even delivered one boat with a hole in the front bulkhead below the waterline....

Of course they don't make anything very "modern" and flash to show off to boat nerds (like us!) ... though I understand that is about to change.

I presume you are talking about the Rebel? Are they even building that now? On their stand at the Southampton and London boat shows I went to their stand to see it and they hadn't bothered to bring it? Instead sticking with wayfarers, wanderers and supernovas? Bit of a shame as I was looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.

I liked it at the start but looking more into it I am not so much a fan anymore compared to the other potential WSs.

I've been in and out their factory aplenty (my local chandlers) and have yet to get a glimpse of the rebel.  Lots of excitement in the place but ... as you say ... nothing much to see but wayfarers and (foam epoxy) supernovas.  Probably go the way of that cherub.

We are having an absolute nightmare so far with Rondar: 6 fireflies to be supplied no later than the end of January (and ordered in the summer last year) are meant to arrive in two batches 'sometime in the next month' , and none with centreboards as they haven't been made yet. At the minute it could ruin our team racing season.
