Just have the booms loose - they can stick on themselves if you cut them out of the magnetic stuff.

Craft shops will sell you a 1m strip of self-adhesive magnet that you can cut with tough scissors. Cut some boat shapes out of card, and stick an inch of the magnet stuff on the back. Add booms with those brass fastener thingies if you like.

I made mine out of cardboard and used the fab brass fasteners.

Join the rya, or go to your regional instructor conference and get the big discount...
the same, but different...

If he's instructing, then unless he's doing it outside of the RYA schemes, he should be an RYA member himself.

Your theory is good however i see a flaw that the magnet will have to be strong otherwise the brass fastening will interfeer with the magnet and be only attached at the "stern".

Find yourself an RYA member and get the same thing for £21 (members get 15% off anything) If you are going to the boat show then the same discount applies there too

How about finding cartoon images of the net then print them out and stick them to the magnetic bits of
material Like this stuff Then you have your own set.

Hi

I'm doing more and more coaching and instructing at the moment ans as most coaches will proably admit I'm crap and drawing boats on white boards!

Now Ive seen the magnetic boat pack off the RYA website but for £25?
I need to get a log book while im there anyway because I want to do some big boat stuff but If there's a simular product thats cheaper I'd buy them seperatley.

Please dont tell me to practice my drawing skills for some people there is just no hope, E'g my last attempt to draw a 2D model it ended up looking like the manly anatomy bit you used to put in your shcool maths exersise books (you know who you are!) not good either way!

Oh and My DIY skills arent much better and I'm a lazy begger
