I live in the UAE in Dubai and so far there is no news about whats happining at the venue, apparently they are still building it, am really not shure if its the right time to have it here. There really is not much sailing as such, the only closest  competitive sailing to RAK is in Dubai (DOSC). The 'hosting' club DIMC is really not the right people to host it they can hardly organise dinghy races let alone the americas cup.

The thing i want to know is why RAK?

btw guys theres a hole in the wall in RAK

Personal ego must be it, as I can't for the life of me see any possible sporting or commercial benefit in this sorry saga!

I just can't understand why the sponsors are still involed in the AC, as what possible mileage can there be in being associated with what has become a global bad joke?

I care as well. I've been to the last 2 cups and they were great. Not interested in going to the UAE as it's too close to Iran and there'll be no drink.

Yes. The Deed of Gift requires it to be sailed on the sea.

Is it too obvious to make the defenders host it at their home club?
