Topper Worlds

There were more forgien boats this year, but i agree it is domintated by the british and irish. Flip is the top girl, and she should have easily won the worlds, but the competition was somewhat of a lottery. For qualifying the fleet were allowed to get away with starts even though the majority were clearly ocs, and this lead to several races being thrown out in protests against the race comittee. As well as that winds were extremly light, and huge 180 degree shifts in the middle of the lake were common. Therefore Pwhlleli, where the nationals are being held, are going to provide a much fairer result i feel.

Exactly right.  It's not like the oppies where a select group from each country battle it out.  It's more like the RSeurocup.  Brits on tour and you might get a few foreign boats thrown in. 
It's just not that much of an international class.

I think the Worlds are more a case of UK Toppers on tour rather anything more grand.

Why are the Nationals considered the event of the year, not the Worlds?  I realise that many people would not attend both, and with the Nationals being cheaper it will get more sailors, but surely the creme de la creme go to the Worlds?

The Nationals are definitely the event of the year for
toppers, we will see what happens there.
