I had a look at the boat on Sunday when I collected mine. The foredeck was definitely ply, but it was hard to tell with the hull. There were a fair few cracks, chips, splits, so it would have been a fairly comprehensive restoration job. The hatches were seized firmly shut and all the fittings looked knackered. Also it was completely open to rain etc. I think you may be better off without it dave, if that's any consolation.

Since i so aptly missed the bid due to me racing, and putting my faith into
someone who thought the auction was at 3 instead of 11, does anyone have an old lowrider they'd like to dispose of? |

If you do get it and you want some tramps, I'll knock you up some for
nothing more than the cost of the actual material. Just because it seems like a good laugh for a little project boat. Doug H |

For anyone that does buy it, I have a set of old moth foils lying in the roof of my workshop...
Year is definitely off, doubt it was glass fibre either - looks Mag7ish so would be ply - I'm no expert on the vintage ones though.... |

Yes, that is my mystery object. I got it for the starting price of £9.99. I expect the Moth will go for more. I hope so -- I have been banned from buying any more boats.
Won't stop me watching it though. ![]() |

Isn't that the boat you've bought next to it, Nessa? I would say his build year estimate is fairly optimistic on the Moth. Fun boat, though, and cheap if you can beg or borrow the rest of it. |
