This ain't Jess!!!! Its Andy her helm now!! I posted that when i'd only seen u guys sailing at Datchett (Datsh*t) when there was either no wind or sh*t loads. At Carnac you guys were flying a hull though.

I do prefer the nacra 500 to the sl though.

Haven't seen a single max, so suppose they ain't that great. I've seen the SLs out when i've been dragoon training, they look alright, but not really great, just like they don't seem to fly a hull much, just heel a tiny bit.

Nacra 500s i think is much better, i've seen them sailed and sailed on one, i happen to be the crew on the nacra 500 on worthy's posts, sails beautiflly up wind and down wind, they're great for racing high performance, or just having a mess around in, there's some people at my sailing club, Weston, who are not very experienced sailors but still have a great time with it.

Well thats what i think. There is a demo nacra a datchett at the minute if you want to have ago on one. Theres loads of info on the nacra uk site, www.nacra.co.uk

I haven't seen a Hobie Max since it lost the youth selection vote.

Another boat to think about is the Nacra 500S.  It has recently been 'pimped up' and is a great boat.  There are some demo boats around at the moment, so if you want a go then shout and I will put you in contact with the relevant people.

Hi

My club is looking at buying a hobie max or sl 16.

Any comments which people think is better.

The hobie looks a bit over priced.

Plus there seems to be very little information about the hobie max on the web, other then the hobie main site.

Is anybody actually sailing the max, or has it failed after lost the ISAF youth cat to the sl 16.

Bye
