If i get really yelled at by someone i am sailing with, i will jump out and swim to shore, leaving them to think "What do i do now?". It really works and stops them yelling for the following races. Dan |

Usually not a good idea IME. A fast boat has a lot of quiet talk, but no shouting. Personally as a reasonably competent crew I won't sail with a helm that shouts - it smacks of him thinking he can do my job better than me, and knows what's going right or wrong better than me. That's not likely to be the case. "Shut up and sail the boat" has a very honourable pedigree. More crews should use it! |

Yelling is defiantly a part of my sailing with most crews/helms unless i don't know them well or they are new
