Of course it is, doesn't anyone know anything on this site, I'm especially
surprised at you not knowing that BNS you must be a Cat sailor

One of your favourite sites dear Grumpf.

As for that sweeping statement about Cat sailors, is it true? How do you know? Would you be able to provide an anecdote or two?

There's a Cat Club over at Minster.

Then there's always Miss Vera

Most Cat sailors are cross dressers.

The Hobie Cat Centre does Cat training in Poole Harbour http://www.hobiecatcentre.co.uk/HobieWayOfLife.htm

And once you feel confident enough, and if you fancy racing, there are various clubs around that will help you to improve.  Weston has already been mentioned, and there is Netley, and Stokes Bay has a lot of cats.  Or if Poole Harbour takes your fancy then Parkstone Yacht Club has a very active Dart 18 fleet - a good boat to learn on at the very least.

My family and I went to Southampton Water Activiteies Centre last year where we tried out their Dart and now we are hooked on cats. Very nice place with very nice people and good equipment. Everything is provided from boots to buoyancy aids if you wish. Obviously you will have to pay but I believe they could tailor a day or two for you if required. However I guess if you have done a Level 1 and 2 you need time on the water so crewing might be a good idea.

guys he lives near southampton thats a 3 hour drive to whitstable!

Weston Sailing Club at netley is a great cat club and will almost certainly be the best club for you to join! If you want to do some cat training then there are many training centres! Southampton Outdoor activitys centre might be the place to try!

lifes to short to sail slow boats!
