So you got out in the end then James, i left before you'd had chance to go out. I have to say it looked sweet, even with the wings layed across the top of it cos the cover had only just come off!

Very true russ- when milk tray man was at the top of the game of 80's debonaire chauvinism, the musto hadn't been invented.  That said if he had been of a sailing inclination, then I'm betting he would naturally have opted for the contender..... much smoother, sleeker, quicker and far more refined than the man from delmonte in his solo.

I can smell a new Banter thread from this one, what would a celebrity sail ? Granted The man from Delmonte isnt really a celeb.

OK TT has was it for you today. Did you get sailing on the Black Beast???

And if yes - how many capsizes?

Must say I am jealous and IF I was to choose between the 700 and the MPS it would have to be the MPS.

I have got a black stealthy looking hull with black foils for some reason, and some black progrip on the deck, so looks like i've joined TT on the dark side, and its good!

I heard in in the Dinghy Show this year, from Chris Somners, Contender builder. He reckons that yellow hulls are slower than other colours.

I can't tell; the only yellow Contender I know of is a composite thinghy GBR280, that makes it only just younger than mine. Difficult to judge LOL

When it comes to controls colours, my boat is a dazzling array of rainbow hues.
Blue trapeze rope, you know that, but also red elastics, white/speckled red kicker, pink downhaul, blue/green outhaul, blue handle to pull the centreboard DOWN, red handle to bring the centreboard UP and that wishy-washy shade of white for the big rope that sticks out from the deck. Only last year, I didn't have a clue what most of them were for! Now when I capsize, I sometimes can tell why - that's progress...  LOL

My mainsheet is Purple

My traveller line is Yellow.

They are tied together.

Looks like I'm stuffed either way!
