Had to get up at 6am to catch a train, got there by mid day, 5pm train home (fighting way through Finsbury park station (footie fans carried me off down an escalator and all I could think was 'dont squash my moth poster!') got home at midnight and had to work on sunday morning :(

A lot of the ex-Topper grp boats we showing new colours last weekend. To be fair the Blaze has not really changed just had all of the niggles sorted out and a smart new sail from North (the sail plan has not changed, just a change from sobstad who were jacking prices up rapidly).

As for the class being able to push they first batch of 'new' boats are all sold and a second batch is already in the offing....now if only I had the money....

Despite the silly travel experiances it was a great show...

Boat of the show for me had to be the Daemon (from as much of a non biased perspective as possible)
I probibly knew a little more about it than most before I went down but I was not far short of amased at how good a job the hartley guys have done. The boat looks very very sorted and I hope Rich and all involved have been convinced its been worth all the effort.

The new layout for the RS800 looked good but I was surprised how empty the RS stand was all weekend. It may have just been me but it seemed a little unwelcoming too.

The new ISO, Blaze and Buzz were definantly improvements, The later two especialy. I hope theres enough spirit in the class associations to push them through the changes and come out the other side stronger than before.

The bladerider I must admit I was surprised at. Ive never been a particularly big fan of the hype but seeing one up close has changed my mind. Its very well thought out and put together and I was impressed to see amac and rohan there on the stand chatting to people.

Headed back to the lee's house and had some very good chili. Got to sleep about 4am once a certain member of the cherub class who sails a fruity boat stopped shouting down the phone to a certain other cherubist. Got up at 11:30 the next morning went to the show until closing. Helped do the packing up. went out for a meal with Isis' parents then got the underground back to victoria and got on the coach at 23:45. Made it to glasgow by 9am after having a blow out on the m6 at 4am and waiting an hour for a replacement bus. Made it back about 10 minutes too late for my first lecture.

... and I am sure you loved every minute of it ...

I think the Dinghy Show is great - good chance to meet up with people. There is no other show like this which is why we see quite a few overseas visitors ... they can't believe their eyes when they see the breadth of sailing in the UK.

Did anyone see the little ginger lad being photographed with Ellen Mac' on saturday morning on the model yacht pool? It was my little brother and being jammy as he is, the one tha hasn't read either of her books, and didn't know the names of any of the team GBR sailors, got to get his picture taken with them!

It was quite a shock just how many engineering works were going on!  The worst was the Piccadilly line closing just after the show closed... at least there was a train station to go back to.

We made the trip down from Scotland/Newcastle to Stansted but after bad experiences last year decided to stay with friends in London on Sat eve - which soothed away the travel frustrations and gave us the whole of Sunday to get home (almost all of it needed!)

But the show was great!  Loved both cherubs, Osprey, Merlin Rocket, Contender...
