Yeah! You might want to think about cutting some holes in the back of the boat and making bailers like pico's have where, as soon as you pick up speed, the water moves back and out of these flaps and when you move slowly they stop water moving back in.

If you want the chute style bailers (topper and most class style) then you buy two bailers... try and get the smallest as then you won't have to cut your boat up as much so it will remain stiff.

Measure a rectangle big enough for the chute part of the bailer to fit through, but small enough that the plastic frame and gasket (rubber part) do not fit through the hole. Then fill any holes with epoxy, line with sealant, then screw the two gasket parts together so sealent oozes out.

That was an uber simplified method, but you should understand that?!

Where self bailers are concerned are you competitively racing the gull becuase your class association may not let you race with self bailers, check your class rules.

Also where trapeze lines are concerned, i would be very surprised if a Gull would get you out on the wire except on the windisest of days and then i imagine the extra force created by the trapeze would snap your mast and maybe rip the chainplates out your boat!

If you are trying to retro fit trapeze wires onto a boat which isn't designed for them, you are VERY likely to completely ruin your boat. If you do decide to give it a go make sure you have as much tension on the rig as possible otherwise the mast will just bend towards you, you'll lose all the power, and you'll get very wet! ... and break lots of the boat.
