There's a very active fleet of RS700's at Queen Mary. It's the second biggest in the country with 22 boats of all standards. Well worth considering..... Ian |

I'l certainly back that up! Big expanse of water and lots of other quick boats to play against, wilsonian would be a great choice!

It's 34 miles from you according to the AA, but if you like long blasting reaches, wide expanses and a modest 1 knot or so of tide for spice, you could try Wilsonian SC (www.WilsonianSc.org.uk) on the River Medway, near Hoo (straight down the A2, then dual carriageway till last mile or so). Small club (200 members) but very keen, with 40 boats out in the summer (20 at present), morning and afternoon races. Miracle fleet otherwise handicap for Lasers & 2000's through to Vortices, 4000's, 600, 800's and even an MPS or two... (though the smart folk sail 3k's!) |

YES come to us, it depends what class you sail though.

If "near" is a priority, consider the Welsh Harp. You'd probably have to rethink your class choice though. |

Yeah King George is open again now. Not sure of the size of it but I know a lot of sailors from King George moved to our club when it shut - Fishers Green which is in Hertfordshire. Near M25 A10 Junction. |

Those times look fair, although I can do from my sister's house in Mill Hill, NW London to the island in 1:20 and that's before the new bridge has opened. According to the AA site (which over estimates the times), Grafham takes longer to get to from Camden/Islington than Sheppey (64 miles vs 53). Good luck choosing. |

ok, according to Multimap, travel times from my potential place of employment (not sure where I'll live yet)... QM - 00:50 Datchet - 00:52 Grafham - 01:18 Isle of Sheppey - 1:34
So queen mary or Datchet look like they'll be best... |
