Hi I am sure a company like P&B would have the contacts to put a package together if they had enough interest. They used to import the Splash from Holland if remember correctly.

Yes all possible but not as easy as picking up an Aero from RS.

Cab you not get a Europe from Winner and find a retailer dealing in Oppies to share delivery costs to the UK?

Shame, lack of new boats limits the progress of any class.

Unfortunately not, certainly the main sticking point with the resurgence of interest. That said, with the age of most the UK hulls buying new might be overkill and really its the rig/sails that make the difference. My 2nd hand boat came from Belgium, a 1995 vintage hull that seems to go very well with a newish rig and sail.

Though if you're in the market for something up to date then buying second hand and collecting at an European event (or chartering a boat from Winner and buying at a slight discount after) are probably the best options.

Proper international class with plenty of scope for trips overseas for racing.

What is the current standard equipment wise ... carbon mast & boom? Who builds hulls these days?

I think it's really just Winner in Spain who build hulls now. Carbon mast (mainly Ceilidh) is standard but still ally booms - according to our talk from a class sailmaker on the training day 'slightly' bendy booms are back in fashion...

It’s absolutely fine - close to Laser-like levels of clearance in the tack when you ease the mainsheet and the mast pops upright, lifting the boom. I’m 5’8” and 80-83kgs, and have no problem getting under
