I used screwfix spray aerosol on my 600 last year. It hasn't fallen off yet.

Cheers, Riv. That was the sort of stuff I was looking at.

Chris,
Several of the aerosols used to fit carpeting to the interiors of vans are two-part (I assume you meant 'apply to both sides and wait') and shown as waterproof and high temperature resistant (you know how hot the inside of a black van can get).

Obviously not getting a big thumbs-up on here, though.

in my experience the only contact adhesives that work long term are two part products.

so that rules out aerosols!

A new 25mm chisel is wide and sharp enough that it wont even mark the boat if wielded well

Then just go to town with a scouring pad and any solvent. If you're struggling for a solvent a good easy one to get hold of is cellulose thinners from Halfords

Exactly the same setup for doing slot gaskets plus a little sand on the stubborn bits. Just make sure your chisel is a dedicated boat chisel as the minute you blunt or dent it you'l start leaving marks on the boat

This is for GRP, never had to do it to anything else

No sweat. If you are going back on with pro grip then polished surface not too vital :-)
If chisel sharp and wielded well it should not mark the surface. My racks are natural carbon finish.
