I prefer the term ‘Lamb’... firstly it symbolises a younger vibe, something sailing desperately needs.  And of course, for lifers, when it reminds us of a stage in life when class racing was/is still very prevelent, even at club level.... be it toppers, optimists or the RS offerings.

Secondly it can be used pejoratively in context to the RYA talent spiral... ‘lamb(s) to the slaughter’.  Useful for internet discussions about what’s wrong with sailing... it’s easy to blame the RYA for grander issues in society around time and money.  Perhaps tonight’s webinar will shed some light?

Finally it can used with a psuedo-religious tone, e.g. enlightened or ‘re-enlightened’.... in other words those for whom the very concept of bandits are just another meaningless part of a larger false prophecy.  One that tries to replace proper sailboat racing with another discipline - a slightly competitive group sailing activity in disparate craft, where still the best sailor probably wins, most of the time.

GoPro lenses distort significantly at the edges (inevitable due to the extreme wide angle).

I hope that's an camera lens illusion or frankly that would worry me.
I have a video from the Phantom nationals I took up the mast which I have yet to look at.
I wonder if that will be as worrying.
Robbie Claridge I assume press ganged by Dad no doubt?

I race Solos in my Lightning. If I'm ahead, I can generally hold them back, but once past, they will generally get away. Handicaps seem pretty even now, and don't forget, it is the Solo and Streaker which have changed - the Lightning has barely moved.
