Currently using the Magic Marine boots which are the best I have used so far and seem to have a very good sole

My vote would be for Gul Windward Code Zero. Have done 4 seasons of regular sailing so far and probably have at least another in them. Soles are very grippy albeit a little on thin side so avoid granite chippings and slightly wider fit for those of us whose fit have spread over the years.

.. indeed, we have abrasive tarmac, rutted concrete and a "beach" made of limestone rubble. Maybe wear overshoes for getting from club to water!

but I reckon dashing about the boat wears them out too.  "Razor cut" boots last OK, but don't hack it for trapezing.

It depends on where you sail.
Some places seem to have specially abrasive concrete or tarmac and a long walk from changing room to slipway.
My dinghy boots seem to generally fall apart at about the same rate the soles wear out?

grippy sailing boots wear out too fast; I have a collection of them with perfect top sides and soles full of holes.

Rock climbing shoes also don't last long; however, whereas there are a host of companies that will glue nice new sticky rubber on your rock boots .... does ANYONE resole dighy boots?

NB the zhiks wearing out did land me with a new pair of gull code zero windward booties which are so grippy it's like being a bluebottle :¬)
