US Sailcloth and Tent Manufacturer Spurry Tents have today announced sponsorship of the Huntingdon round of the Great British Lake Off.

As part of the arrangement, Spurry will be providing an award winning, 'iSaw You Tent' - an open sided marquee - to act as changing facilities for all competitors.

President of Sails, Martin Catchpole the Third, said:

"It is of great delight to announce our association with the Huntingdon regatta.  We have a well-earned reputation for providing functional external event infrastructure in a traditional, nautical-themed style that will complement the look and feel of The Great British Lake Off series."

Commodore of Huntingdon Yacht Pavillion SC, Edwin Boate said:

"We are pleased that these temporary changing facilities will greatly increase the warmth and soul of the de-robing experience compared to our normal offering."

Club steward and Boat Park Officer (elect), Crispin Pintz also commented, vociferously, "would all competitors move their cars to the rear car park at their earliest opportunity.  The unloading schedule allows for 40 seconds per competitor and we will not fly APs for latecomers and those of tardy dispositions.  You have been warned.  Enjoy your day."

Notes to editors:

- GP14 sailors are graciously advised that towel flossing is no longer acceptable.
- Blaze sailors are graciously advised that towel whipping is not mandatory, even for those who switch up to Halo rigs without prior approval.
- D-Zero sailors are advised to bring towels, Sandiline logo ones preferably.

I am planning the Grafham GP subject to wifely approval and possibly the Dash and Bloody Mary.

Doubt I can make any of the others due to work/family.

Sounds good- and at least Cambridgeshire County Council won't be able to complain that the roads are icey this year.

For the past 3 winters Gary Gritter, a local roads contractor, has complained that his depot in Huntingdon was routinely robbed of its salt reserves by odd middle-aged men wearing rubber lederhosen, towing the goods away in strange triangular shaped skips....

CCTV recordings have been handed in to the police, however Cambridgeshire Constabulary have been unable to verify the location of a skip hire operator known only by their trademarked logo: 'RS300'.

rumour has it Grafham have had a word with local farmers to put back the stubble burning... they 're hoping for a garda like effect where a warm wind will be generated, along with extra light for longer during racing. They also hope the rise to above 0C temperatures will put off the Polar Bears that have been there all summer as the arctic was "too warm" this year

... or I made that up

So Sail Juice is around the corner.... time for another soggy bottom.

Anyone going to any of them?

And of course, the critical debate - no not PY gerrymandering or who's been flexing class rules for machiavellian endeavour, but which club serves the best Victoria Sponge whilst waiting for the wind to fill in?
