Boots and gloves straight onto the floor of the airing cupboard along with the spinnaker in its bag. Next Sunday, all perfectly dry, no nasty smells that I can detect, and the kite dry and crispy like new.

I just peel my wetsuit off in the showers, and hang it up inside out for a week.... boots get a quick rinse out at the same time... but that's all... They never seem to get too manky...

What's wrong with hosing your kit down in the garden and leaving it on the washing line all week, or if you are lucky and you get a dry day shoving it in your bag on Friday evening?

A minute in the microwave, sounds like the start of a bad joke,

Cardboard tubes (toilet rolls) stuffed in the ankles hold the boot open and help wick out the damp.
I heard a minute in the microwave kills the bacteria and eliminates the smell, havent tried it myself. |

Half a capful of Dettol per boot plus warm water. Agitate and tip out. Leave to drain. Never had stinky boots in 40 plus years. |

I'm a washing machine man, but my boots still seem to end up reeking quite quickly.

I always swill everything in the bath, just using softener, (I do not rinse softener out) , seems to work, then hang on line.
These driers would be great for weekend events, not much drying room in a tent.

I put mine thru the washing machine with a little detergent, a lot of rinsing and a quick spin with the rest of my kit. Boots on top of the boiler to dry out. Gloves air dried in the boat shed / sail loft / laundry / workshop (aka garage!) along with the rest of the kit. I never machine wash my spray tops.
