Anyone want to bet against XODs? 5 years time, the recent crop of Merlins will still be racing at te top level. I think 400's might have a surge, as people in their 20's borrow Dad's boat. Boats like the Fireball might slip ot of the 50+ nationals, but still have the great strength of a well filled calendar of good opens? |

Funny, I'd put it the other way. If they keep the three together it might become like the Laser where the over 21 turnout at the Champs appears to be poor and adults tend to go to the masters. |

Proper international classes will always see peaks and troughs due to worlds etc ... It would be good to see Y&Y extend the scope of this table ... perhaps have one to track worlds attendances of ISAF classes; given Y&Y.com is becoming less UK centric that seems like a good idea ...

I'd say pretty similar to now - same classes hitting 50 or more occasionally on anniversaries but normally bumping along at the 30-40 mark, others regularly getting between 50 and 100. Will the *ero classes be up there? I think the Zero will squeak in, the Aero5 get over the 100, the 7 get to 50 but the 9 struggle to make it. But if they stick together, rather than the 5 becoming a separate youth Nats boat, I think it could be a big event.
Will the popularity of youth classes finally hit the adult world with the Aero and kids moving on to the big rigs as they grow up, or will booze and the opposite sex still win out? |

I greatly fear almost all youth and junior classes.

What classes will be in the 50+club in 5years time...end 2019? Which of the newer classes...*eros, SK2, Icon, something yet to come along will take off ? Are we talking less of the dedicated racing classes... established SMODs or are the restricted designs going to become too expensive to retain critical mass ? Are the most significant events going to be mass handicap?
