Blimey, I always thought sheet loads were low on the Laser! Probably less than 50% of the mainsheet load on a Fireball with a split mainsheet and a 15 stone lardy on the wire...

You really have turned into a very good yachter, was a very fun day :-) Had a couple of "priceless moments" with your Dad and boy can you sail the 600!

Yesterday I tried the D-1, it was the best sail of my life (so far) and didn't realise how nice they were. The sheet loads were a lot lighter than my laser (even the spinnaker) I could freely adjust the sails without my arms hanging off at then end of it. Thanks to Slooooooow for the loan of the boat(s) and dad for the use of this account. I'm 55kg and found it easy to beat the lardies upwind and down. The 600 wasn't bad either

There you go, 4 of us turn up at Castle Cove last weekend in our D-Ones and before the week is out 2 others have bought one, the joy of actually seeing, sailing and being convinced by the experience.

Nice one Slooow, Its great that the message is finally getting bought home! Class is growing fantastically now and with a UK based Euros next month its never a better time to join in. Its a really great boat, demand for used is high. Sadly supply is a little limited (new not a problem) Great to see some new members rolling their sleeves up and getting involved!

90kg is the perfect weight for a Phantom, D-Zero I think will carry this ok although not sailed one but heard good things. Out of interest what is the ideal weight for a D-One? I'm guessing 86kg on Wides?
