At the 200 event at Chew last weekend there were only 4 starters for the last race (not late, about 1300hrs). And only two finishers. It was a bit windy mind you and they were on the third of three b2b races.

Not quite. There are 7 x 100s, 16 x 200s and 22 x 400s. I would expect perhaps a few more 200s as they are normally the largest fleet at the Sprints. This is the largest fleet the 300s have put out at this event though, and its 2 months earlier than normal.

Incorrect sir. 6 new sails being delivered from stock to Rutland this weekend. Another batch of new sails is being ordered from Hyde (in China) this week, to be airfreighted over at The Boatyard's expense (Aug delivery would have been the case if coming by sea). 

Going forward, The Boatyard will be keeping new sails in stock.

20 odd boats going to be at Rutland this weekend. Class alive and kicking (hard) despite constant protestations to the contrary.

so what's the deal with new RS300 sails.... AIUI you have to wait until August to get one now RS are have binned them off.

I wonder if the Rooster man has any left over?

Chris, I think my point on the vareo to 100 was that in my opinion the Vareo was already done for but there were a hardcore group of owners there.  That's why I said the 100 to be the new vareo as the big change once every decade, or even 15 years would probably be better.  Not meaning that to be the 2 yearly small changes.
