Hi, I sailed a 600  few times over the summer and the things i learnt on how to sail it was, keep the boat flat. it is a fairly forgiving boat and make sure you get through the tacks quickly. apart from these two things its pretty much as hard as a laser apart from helming from the wire. don't bother cleating the main off you will get it caught when you don't want want it to. trust the rig when you are heading out onto the trapeze there will be plenty of power ant you wan't lots of downhaul on.
hope that helped

Hats off for giving it a go  Clap

Know exactly how you feel about trusting the rig. Same for me with the Contender, yes I know much easier than a 600 but it really needs to be as I'm much older than you young hero and similarly light. If you wait for the power to come on and leeward heel to begin you've nearly left it too late to correct it. While it's still flat step out and take an armful of sheet with you.

Hi all,
Just thought I'd post a link my blog about learning to sail the 600 in the hope that it will be of some use to others considering buying a single handed trap boat. Happy New Year to all!

Best,
