I wholeheartedly agree with Jeffers. Having the rules knowledge of Gordon and Brass on this forum has been hugely beneficial.

Congratulations on the appointment Gordon! Clap Clap Clap

There were other 'team' games for the Original Windsurfer Class, buoy ball being another, played with those space hopper things, which you had to pick up and try and sail it into the other teams goal, soccer style.

It was team racing though that helped develop Windsurfers rule knowledge,

Of course, what other reason?

Eric Twiname class of '79 me, and a very successful team racing nationals in 1980.. Really good fun, shame it was lost to windsurfing in all of the planing only madness.

iGRF  - pure team racing sentiments!

Fleet racers use the rules to keep out of trouble
Team racers use the rules to create trouble for the other team.

I'd also like to echo this sentiment, can't say I've had much to say on the rules front but I've read most of the discussions avidly, lets face it if you don't know them, there's no way in which you'll ever know how to 'bend' them eh?

But in all seriousness, well done on the appointment Gordon and thank you.

Judges never disagree - they do however, on occaision, struggle to arrive at a common interpretation of the rules!
