Come on boys, not beyond the wit of man to go down to the local timber merchant and grab a couple of lengths of 2*2 prep. |

Before you try and put it on the roof take one of your roof bars and place it across the boat, they seem to be narrower these days so it may not work.

When Uffa Fox raced his first Flying Fifteen, apparently he used to transport it around the country on the roof of a Humber Snipe, with the mast strapped alongside and the 400lb keel unbolted and stowed in the boot!

78kg seems to be the Avensis roof limit (subject to the rack you use I guess...)
Unless it's had some serious weight gain a mirror should be ok... With the gunwhales being raised above deck level the Mirror hull is particularly easily lifted allowing plenty of different places to grip without having to worry about slipping. Wide enough that you don't have to stretch too far over the car either. |

The only thing you may need to be aware of is that car manufacturers impose limits for roof loads these days, and of course exceeding those limits may get you into insurance trouble if the worst happens. The limits seem crazy low to me when I consider some of the stuff we used to do...

Of course you can, it is slightly more windage than a Topper/Laser so dont expect to break any land speed records (except when driving downwind in a gale)
