Whereas, had they had a Nationality rule in place the total would have been
OTUSA - 8 USA
ETNZ - 8 NZL

and they would have been exactly the same people...

Your facts arent right, they werent all Kiwi on the ETNZ boat and there was only 1 american on Oracle towards the end of the AC as Ainslie replaced Kostecki.

I understand your point, but that is not strictly true. Glenn Ashby (wing trimmer) is an Aussie not a Kiwi.
