Maybe he was pulling a moonie at the D1 sailor who was drifting past him...

The Artemis yacht was motoring backwards - hence why the kite was filling!

They were not sailing when I saw them. Mind you nor were any of the big boats. At one point I did seem one of the Artemis ones with its spinny up going side ways. I also saw what looked like an RS100 with the helm standing on the foredeck in an attempt to reduce wetted surface.

Shame for the event, and more so for the competitors that went.
Probably the 1st I've ever made the right call in deciding not to travel ![]() |

Tis true. On the positive side, the later update seems to indicate better winds than originally forecast
Yes - you are right ... 4mph 'gusting' to 6mph now ... Just can't wait ;-) ! Mike L. (Icon 03) |

Maybe not one for a few of the asymetrics perhaps then ;-) .... but we've entered, have no compilcated 3rd sail to humour, and no doubt will enjoy the odd Guinness afterwards - Yes, me and 'Andy' the 'Dancing Farmer' will be taking it as seriously as ever.
Where would you rather be ? Racing and on the water or studying those ruddy forecasts and deciding it really 'was a good idea not to bother anyway' Only thing is the wind might pick up a tad and you have no bloody chance at all if you are already at the Guinness stand !
