It doesn't foil upwind. The boat feels very different upwind with the foils on, though. You can really feel the way the foils "grip" the water and restrict the boat's rise and fall with the waves.

It looked like a great idea until one looked at 1 the price tag and 2 the video of it foiling - never upwind. Shame really - I like the idea of a more stable hull form to sit on while not foiling, and a smaller pricetag. Scow moth as a foiler was tried, which would tick the boxes.

well at over 3 grand just for the foils you really have to ask why you wouldn't just get an older moth instead....

Kites, trapezes, racks and foils have all been done using a Laser as a base before. As long as you can take them all off should you wish to go class racing then I don;t see a problem.....
