Since it's partially relevant to the iOS / Android debate, here's the breakdown of mobile operating system visits to YachtsandYachting.com in the past month. This doesn't include the Sailing News App which has Android 1063 installs and 446 iOS installs (but the iOS version was launched quite a bit later).

I've just had an email from the developer and he's finished the GPX upload feature. So now all you iPhone users can uoload gpx files and get the benefits of the track viewer

Looks cool, but who actually gets value out of it in terms of performance, or finds it interesting to look at other people's tracks for more than 20 seconds?

its not meant to replace sexy GoPro footage. alothough we have that too.....its so you can compare you stats to your mates and see that he is pointing higher than you or going faster and hopefully get something out of it. its a training aid. The developer is keen for feedback and improvements too.

i'll check and see what he can do, he has since made the track "thinner"  for easier viewing and you can manually remover sections of track with the slider at the bottom of the screen. This is also used when selecting the time period for creating races
