Agreed, two top guys as well as sailors by reputation and one brief meeting. RIP.

Andrew Simpson was humble about his achievement though great and inspirational for all young sailors out there aspiring to succeed. I was shocked at the news, this is a sad day, for the whole sailing community but also his family.

Caught this on Facebook last night and still feel as shocked over 14 hours later.

I never met Bart, but he came across as a really top guy as well as being an extraordinarily gifted sailor.

Sincere and heartfelt condolences to his family.

Let's also all spare a thought for Iain Percy who not only has lost his best mate, but is probably on a major guilt trip for persuading Bart to join him in the Artemis campaign.

Extraordinarily sad day for all in the sailing fraternity. His success and his popularity say it all. Its just not right when things like this happen to such good young people.

Heartfelt condolences to his family.

Awful, awful news.  I never met him, but knew him by reputation not only as a phenomenally good sailor but also as a top bloke who would spend time and share knowledge with sailors at any level.  It's a stark reminder that none of us can take tomorrow for granted.  I hope it doesn't sound trite to call it a loss to the sport of sailing; the real, terrible loss is of course to his family.  My heartfelt condolences go to them and all who knew him.
I'm not arguing. I'm explaining why I'm right.

I read this on the news last night not knowing who was in the team. Sailing has lost a great guy.

RIP Andrew
