I assumed they meant the plastic tube that the furler attaches to?

ah - could be.  I was wondering if they has fitted a jib track or pole, but I'm probably wrong on that

It's the black ally bar that the furler sits in.  That is actually a common part with the Vareo, but I thinkthe change will be in how it is mounted in the boat.

Laser were helpful in the early days of the event.

And why not? They must have benefited from the exposure of their name even if they didn't sell the boats any more  - just as Ford sold Cortinas and other boring fodder on the back of their Le Mans & F1 successes back in the day.

I would have thought the "laser" multi class event is run by the class associations that have almost nothing to do with the manufactuers.

Whereas most of the RS classes have very close links between the manufacturers and the class association.

The 2000 class has decided to remain as an independent clss association so can join any event they wish or are invited to.

How many of the Laser multi-class event at Grafham are actually still "Lasers"?
