My nomination for the Raymarine YJA Yachtsman of the Year would be Nick Craig for his domination of the OK class (which is fast becoming the most competitve dinghy Class internationally), RS400 Inlands and nationals, Ent worlds and of course, Endevour champ of champs......a truely dedicated sportsman demonstrating ability in mutiple classes while drawing the ultimate, fine character of a sportman, gentleman and embassador to our sport. Bravo !

Im not involved in the youth scene so I cannot nominate, but I would like to hope it goes to first, a true youth (not just a close to 18yrs old while still being elegible) and also someone who demonstrates the embodyment of a 'sportman', not just a good sailor. I would secretly like to see someone win who is competeing well in the face of difficulty as it seems to me there are many RYA sponsored and heavily parents financed bratts out there who never want for anything on or off the race course, but I know a dream when I see one..... and I must say ' the clouds are very pretty and white'!

Nah i think every1 should be thinking about,

Craig Paul, Sam Coombs, James Hopson: in an amazing act of bravery the three boys, from the West of Scotland, rescued Nell Hardie from certain death whilst out sailing their 29ers. Nell was sailing with Craig Paul when their boat capsized, trapping her underneath with the trapeze wire wrapped round her neck, and strangling her. The boys kept their heads, remained calm and handled the situation efficiently, managing to bring Nell safely back to shore and resuscitate her, before she was taken to hospital. If the boys had not acted so promptly Nell would have suffered severe trauma and probably would not have survived.

Come on guy's you gotta admit their better than any of the other nominations if you disagree p.m me witha valid reason!

yh james did quite well, but there was some arguement about whther he should be in the team or not, along with 3hour protests. but the guy that came second steven videlo, is national champion, won the national rankings and is lark national youth champion

The nominations open for the Raymarine YJA Yachtsman of the Year and Raymarine Young Sailor of the Year during the Southampton Boat Show.

Who are you thinking of voting for?

For Yachtsman of the Year how about Ellen? She's going to be up there in Sports Personality of the Year (behind Freddie Flintoff I'd suspect now)

For Young Sailor of the Year I was thinking of James Rusden & Erin Clark for winning the Cadet world championships. What do you all think?
