With disturbing mental issues..

Our troubled Hero is in crisis, first a violent name change, from the simple yet accurate self description Turn Turtle altered to the absurd "jwlbrace" brand name for some digger manufacturer or surgical assistance company.

Then following some extra marital activity which required extraordinary use of his knees, we hear some damage has occurred that results in limiting his ability to control the worlds finest single hander to date.

This week comes the news that his beloved Chariot of the Gods is on sale and what's worse in his pain addled and confused mental state he is considering total heresy.

I shall not even mention the crafts genre, suffice to say there might well end up being more than one hull supporting our troubled friend.

He needs our help.

Mere hetracil will not suffice, he is in dire need of swift and violent irony, extreme and total sarcasm.

The potential error in his ways needs describing to him.

I have tried in a deep and meaningful personal message setting out his future options as a sailing pikey.

I may not have done enough.

Time to help.

Imagine if it were you considering such an act.

TT needs you now - mid life is beckoning him/her

Someone who names a lump of mass-produced plastic Praestolor is in far more urgent need of help!

Well f**k me, Jimbo why on earth would you want a cat??  They are horrible creatures.

I take it you did mean a feline cat????  you can not seriously be thinking of a water based vessel for those that have poor balance??  I had the stabilisers taken off my bike at 4 years of age.  if you do buy one, you need to go the whole hos and have this word tattooed on your forehead ...lame

Get yourself a vortex pal, it is almost a cat but not quite half as spasticated.

LOL Only j'king cat sailors, each to their own and all that.

I've got one you can have, and it's only got 1 hull too.

I'm still waiting for my Dakine foot loops for the back of the bus.... Screw it James, get a Shadow. Anyone I've known who had a Vortex got f*cked off with it after a season or two and went and bought a big boys cat. Funny thing is they still sail cats now, after many years, seems the logical progression. Going to be really funny when Graeme realises this and admits he's lame in his own eyes....

Foot straps they are called, Loops are what you do in the air. It worries me hanging about with all you girley lame boys, in a chat forum on t'internet, if my mother knew...
I can't believe I'm even talking on a thread with the words Cat in it.

Menace if you need Dakine straps just PM me I'll sort it in an instant, either from here or will point you somewhere more local, albeit risking the name of my fine brand on some  sailing 'bus' driver. (It had better not be made of wood.) Wink

Go for it James, whatever keeps you sailing and walking is good. You could also think small keelboat - Illusion, 2.4m or even a FF if you want to find a crew.

Gosh James, I am really sorry you're having to sell.  I face the same issue with the contender, having just been referred to physio and having had a steroid injection, all for the shoulder, never mind the busted wrist.  I can't see me regaining the strength to work the mainsheet.

If I had the dosh I'd be buying your boat like a shot - the sheeting angle off the boom looks more manageable for the bust right limb.  As it is, everything is tied up in one fine contender and several lumps of wood.

Don't buy a vortex, buy a proper cat, and good luck with it.

the same, but different...

Jimbo further to my post in your what Cat thread, i think the Vortex would be a great stop gap for you.  They cost Sweet FA and would be a great 'soft' intro back into single handed performance sailing.  I am not sure you would want one long term but for a 1000-1500 quid they are cheap fun and for that money you surely can't go wrong.
