Interested to see what peoples clubs are doing with handicaps. Do many actually adjust handicaps locally?

Please if you vote could you post with name of club and whether you use club adjusted numbers, or published numbers. Could you also state simple club size, say small medum or large.

We are all aware of pro's and con's, I'm purely interested in whether they do it so please just stick to that if possible and if someone has voted from your club please try to not vote twice.

Many thanks in advance.

Chris

I'm absolutely a fan of messing around with py's locally but it does require a
very relaxed attitude on the part of the competitors.
If people want to do well in a club series and are really competitive about
those trophies at the end of the year, then just stick to the RYA list.

Island Barn, Surrey.
Locally adjusted. I think if you are taking handicap racing reasonably seriously you should be making adjustments for your water.

Greensforge is a small club and uses the published PYs for most racing. However some of the better sailors sail off a disadvantagous personal handicap, and still manage to win.

Hunts SC, mainly using published PYs with a few variations to suit the water.

Medium sized club but a small piece of water.
