you only do it lightly but it changes the properties of the deck surface. Then again the aesthetics shouldn't really matter if its a first boat; more a case of parental pride

Some colours achieve better results than others. The yellow, grey, light blue
decks are the most difficult to get back their colours whilst the red, blue and
purple decks get a better result. As was said previously, it is purely an
aesthetic appearance and mainly parental pride. All that really matters is
that it has no leaks and the fittings are in good condition.

Well it takes 4 and a half stone to right the boat from a capsize so i'd say thats a pretty good place to start.

Thats all right then. Im not to sure that I will be getting out the heat gun on the boat as to me that has potential to go very very wrong.

For less severe imperfections a hairdryer will work on some colours.

hey,

yee i heard that a hair dryer does the trick, if u use a hot air gun then make sure u use it at a distance!

Honestly, on the slightly white stress marks a hot air gun used from a distance will work exceptionally well and won' turn your boat into a big sticky mess as you might imagine.

As for the small sail, it can probably be used in most wind conditions by someone about 6/7 stone? Are you sure you wouldn't be better off buying a new big sail and then reefing it for the mopre windy days ebcuase then when your sun puts on weight or you have very liuttlke wind, he can have the extra power. If done well, reeefing the sail won't bugger up the shape too much.
