These are among the first public photos of something Dave and Steve Clark (as in Int Canoes and C Class Cats) have been working up for a year.

The project is apparently concentrating on usability and price rather than raw performance.

There are some very interesting and radical ideas there...

For the moment I fear its facebleedingbook for more info, but they're keeping things close for now.

No info on Farcebook either. And I agree, it's not a pretty thing is it...

I think it's just combining the wishbone with the spreaders, meaning it can all be done with straight tubes.
That's the best looking bit of it.
The hull looks like something out of a boating lake from about 1972.

Like a few other things, our opinions may change when it overtakes us?

I see that the Foiling Week USA programme has an entry for Steve and David Clark.

Pop into Newport on 10th September, or wait for the publicity after the conference.

10th September even Mags... I think you'll find the press release has the month wrong.

Both "booms" are 'engaged' all the time. They go to the end of the spreaders. Mast and sail cannot but help rotating as one unit. From what I can make out the diamonds over the spreaders are adjustable on the water, which provides limits to mast bend, and thus controls sail fullness, and there's a purchase at the leech working like a sailboard outhaul which manages leech tension and twist. Rather clever actually. I think the spreaders are triangulated, so barking strong to deal with the loads, which in any case are I think going to be rather less than the loads from a conventional kicking strap.

The rig is really rather neat. And out of the box, that's for sure.

The hull looks like it is made from Lego? Like the concept, though - a toilet you don't have to have expert balance or huge spaces to sail.

Good old predictive text. Not sure toilet was the word I meant...

Looks ghastly, but I suppose hull shape isn't really important once you are foiling!
