Are we anticipating anything new this year?
What would we like to see?

Will the Waspz be there? Always enjoy looking at Moths and ICs, too, and hoping the 300 is as shiny was the photos suggest. Not in the market for any of them, of course.

With a training hat on, I'd like to see the new build of the Comet Trio, the Quest and the Sailability version of the Venture.

Will be spending time on the Lighting stand, but will also be playing the "hunt the wooden boat" game as usual.

Any amazing offers on sailing holidays?!

I guess most of the new stuff will be announced in the next few weeks as we get closer to the show.

I'd like to see more of the new ICs. I'm bored of the moths as the developments are just so subtle and related to the horizontal foils that they don't really do anything for me any more.

I'd like to see someone do something very different in a given class a bit like the new Hornet a few years back. Could someone take a traditional class and do something massively modern with the deck or rig.

Like Laser did to the Laser 2 a couple of decades ago?

The word is the new deck / internal moulding on the Hartley Osprey MkV will have a double floor and open transom.

Sort of, but they re-badged it as a Laser 3000 and marketed it as a totally new boat. Its more entertaining to see that sort of development within an exiting class!!!

Something like a 60kg self draining YW dayboat, with carbon spars and a big roach mainsail and floating jib stick, and laminate centreboard, sort of like a big N12. Of course this is a stupid example as it wouldn't comply with class rules but there must be a couple of classes left where someone can come along with something a bit out of the norm.

I wonder how many classes bother to specify that the foot of the mast must be in a fixed position, and on the centreline...

I predict that someone will stand their mast on a carriage, and run the bottom to leeward, to generate some lift...

We can't all heel to windward like the mothies...

Yup, epoxy as well. It looks very nice indeed... well from what I've seen from the Osprey newsletter. Think they have about 20 so far pre-ordered.
