I guarantee this thread will run and run, but here goes in continuance from the VX1 thread where iiiiiiiitick was asking, I suggested Glucosamine and recounted my own issue which is an extremely painful shoulder, restriction of arm movement caused I think by the annual sailors v windsurfer cricket match (yes I bat for both sides ) when my bowling arm just seized and I haven't been able to raise it (my arm) above shoulder height.

Looking at al the internet advice (no I don't like doctors either, why would I? I never listen to anything else anyone tells me why should I think they're any different) it comes up Steroids, the bread knife has pounced on it and we're having big rows (I'd rather die a slow painful death than have those things in me)so I'm about to go the Glucosamine route myself and we'll see, it's been three months now and no real improvement.

Now some of you must have similar ailments, joint damage, muscular aches and pains, lets hear your tales, preferably with a happy ending, I'm having a bad day today, I'd rather not hear stories of incapacity, degradation and decrepitude and all you *young dudes? Watch this, five minutes time? It's you.

*Young means under 60 don't even start with your ooh I'm forty something and I bruised my mangina

What bit of that 'don't even start about your bruised mangina' at 32 or whatever embryonic age you're still at, didn't you get? They do knee replacements now you know, better than wasting money on breast enhancement or what's it called man boob reduction?

Proper hero man problems we need to discuss, not 'boy' things like early onset ED...

This was what set the thread up and reminded me of glucosamine which I'm going to rush straight out from work to buy.

I just had to google what that was, at first I missed off the 'early onset' bit and came up with various links to Ed Sheeran and Ed Milliband.

Once I added the 'early onset' bit, all became clear (as will my search history imminently)

Just as a side note, you are clearly a man of cavernous knowledge, after all I can't believe you'd use acronym E.D. so readily in forum discourse as a result of personal experience....   LOL

It's just currently topical at our club given a couple of nurse wives and girlfriends I've nicknamed E.D. nurses and keep pressing them for help to find a cure using me as a subject But in truth my own experience of events such as that have tended to be alcohol induced and these days, don't those little blue tablets sort the problem out anyway?

If we ever were to have such a problem all we need do was windsurf up the Stour or in Sandwich bay, you get a stiffy for hours after that, all the effluent coming from the Pfizer factory...

Regular (rather painful quite often) massage and yoga, which I'm crap at, but luckily the instructor dosn't expect me to be as good at it as the old ladies! It has got me through a full year of sailing without more than a passing ache or twinge. That and the Lloyds chemist equivelent of voltarol, which appears to be stronger.

I had something similar. Had MRI scans etc and the consultant got it straight away when I saw him - rotator cuff injury. Two bouts of physio and some home exercises saw me right.

Well I've sort of convinced myself it's probably this note the prescription of steroids as the panacea.

So, I'm now convinced not to do anything further.
