The B14 has a significant feel to it when your sailing.
I have never experienced the same kind of feelings in any other class of boat...Go for the B14! |

there is a far bogger class for the B14 in the UK than 59er, agreed, the B14 class wont rival such as the 400 or 200 but its still pretty big in comparison to the 59er, its also a lot cheaper to get spares and parts, aswell as finding them more reasily available...

Just check out the PYs. The B14 sails off 880 whereas other speedy boats sail off not much faster PYs ( except the 49er) Int 14 850, Int Canoe 873, FD 879, 49er 747, 59er 905, Musto Skiff 875, rs 700 857, rs800 822. So, the B14, a 1985 design, can still mix it with some of the quickest monohulls around and not a trapeze wire in sight. I'd say take the B14 anytime. It may also qualify as being the best skiff but thats another topic...... |

Many thanks for all the replies I over estimated our total crew weight by about 10kg and the boat will be sailed in open water (the sea) From reading seems as the B14 will be a good start Hoping to see/try a B14 soon |

Good choice ! Post a message on the B14 web site www.b14.org and ask for a test sail.

"As a complete outsider to both classes, I can only say that given the
choice the B14 is inherently 'more cool' than a 59er... don't ask me to
justify it, it's totally subjective and not based on any scientific
rationale. "
Sounds a bit like the Top Gear "COOL WALL" to me! Perhaps we need a Y&Y Cool wall. I can think where i would like to stick quite a few! |
