Not quite, the longer lines required cause drag which slows the kite down. The fastest kite buggiers are now going for shorter lines to reduce drag and increase speeds. There will be a line length that offers the best compromise and I would suggest it wouldnt be much longer than they currently use.

Line length varies, light wind = longer lines = more area in sky to 'sign' the kite which develops more power plus wind is supposedly stronger higher up.
Medium length =30m and short = 20m Lots of folk going to take it up next year, suddenly round the cans is all the rage. |
