There doesn't seem to be a suitable section for sailing
techniques. 'Banter' and 'Beginners' doesn't really seem to
fit.

I like to ask a question or two

I agree, it's good to have people asking questions so that you can get other peoples takes on how to do things. If nobody asked... then we'd never know!

techniques, or maybe HOWTO. one under each of dinghy classes , multihulls and leadmine classes I reckon would be good...
