Will that stop friction to avoid a holey kite?

3mm Excel D12, reduces the mouse holes in your kite - see the 700 yahoo group.
Still swimming with an RS700!

3mm D12 with about 20cm of D12 running through the core as it passes through the cleat.

The D12 is low friction enough to allegedly stop the little tears in the kite.

I have run this and 4mm 8plait and not really noticed much difference, and the later is cheaper.

I use 4mm marlow and taper it from the head of the kite to the cleat, makes for a faster hoist quite alot less friction through the blocks.

not sure what you can do about friction burns in the kite.don't pull so hard? will the kite on a 7 fall if you uncleat it? if so you could oversheet the foot, uncleat the halyard and let it fall half way down then bag it. it works well on a musto.

if you don't want to do you tapering yourself bov does a good job of it http://www.ianturnbullmarine.co.uk

Craig is spot on - 3 or 3.5 with double thickness at the cleat point.  I have a two year old kite with no 'nick/burn' holes at all......

I use a taper on my F16 halyard.  taper is 2mm (I think) V12 and the rest is 4mm Maff.  Much less damage to the kite!

My halyard is 4mm D12, only problem with it is that it gets a bit chewed up at the rocker cleats.  With the 700 because the halyard is exactly the right length you can do what sten said and uncleat the halyard and pull on the sheet and then pump it down.  Dropping while the downhaul is on the back of the kite also does a lot of damage so try to only drop it with the downhaul inside if possible.
