Earlier this year Sport England did a satisfaction survey about "understanding the quality of ones sporting experience". They surveyed 44,000 people across the country from 45 different sports. It is the first time a survey of this kind has been carried out. The chart below shows that satisfaction levels across sport are high but vary across the 45 sports included in the survey. Good to see sailing coming out well .... with the big team games - hockey, cricket, football etc well over to the left.

Misuse of statistics... By having the zero line at about 70 something it really exaggerates the differences...
It actually should look like this ![]() So there's not really much difference between any of teh sports... Edited by JimC |

I completed that survey earlier in the year. Was very very long!! Couldn't
really see the point of it. If I wasn't happy doing a sport, I wouldn't do it. |

Not so much using a 'zero line' as a mean (average), more a case of mis-scale on the columns. It makes the worst only look half as good the best (which it isn't). Your graph certainly redresses that. Who was it said "Lies, damn lies and statistics" or something similar? Edited by Andymac |

More to the point when the hell did flog and fish hunting become sports. Although I'm all for more coverage of 'Dancing Erotica' on the bbc sport programs.

Some might say that fishing is the UK's most popular "sport", though I'm sure that the majority of anglers sit at the side of a canal hooking tiddlers, rather than offshore wreck fishing in the Channel for monster cod... What about darts, then? It's the ultimate competitive sport |
